Like all of the Factory Sales Reps, Joe’s goal is to sell more Gorbel® and Cleveland Tramrail® products via the dealers in his area. Joe cover the Mid-Atlantic region (metropolitan NYC and Long Island, NJ, eastern PA, MD, DE, and VA). He wants to make sure that the dealers in his territory are the right mix for Gorbel® and that they have what they need for them (and us) to be successful. This requires a bit of travel. Daily, you’ll find Joe addressing concerns that those dealers have and helping them close sales.
Joe has been with Gorbel® for just over 18 years. He was hired back in 2002 in Customer Service, and in 2011, he joined the Sales Department. Outside of the office, Joe has a super busy life. He is a father to twins, and a husband to his wife, Katie. He helps his son with his Boy Scouts troop and volunteers with his church, Usher and Knights of Columbus.
Joe can’t pinpoint just one favorite memory from his time here at Gorbel®. “I have many,” said Joe. “Of course, every Nick Tahou’s Garbage Plate Day. I love the passion my coworkers have: Cheryl O’Neil shaving her head to raise money for Golisano Children’s Hospital (along with Daryl Embling shaving his mustache that he had for years), and both the 30th and the 40th Anniversary events. Oh, and dressing up as Brian Reh on Halloween 2017."
Throughout his life, Joe has met many people that are important to him, but his lifelong friend, Marc Rumsey, is someone who has always been a mentor to him. They have been friends since seventh grade, and Marc is always willing to listen, and gives solid, well-thought advice.
