Earlier this month, the Gorbel®-sponsored Victor High School Robotics Team 1559 (Devil-Tech) competed in the FIRST Robotics Finger Lakes Regional at RIT.
A team of approximately 50 students pursuing their interests in STEM fields and mentors (including Gorbel®’s own Shaun Alianell, Ben Strohman and Enrico Sabelli) spent the past 8 weeks building a robot to compete in a space-inspired game that involved placing hatches on a rocket and cargo ship and filling them with cargo.
Faced with many challenges, the team fared well, finishing with a record of 6-4 and
ultimately falling in the quarter finals of the elimination round. The team was very grateful for Gorbel®’s support and looks forward to improving their results when they compete at the Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, Ohio on March 28-30th.
