Gorbel® was one of 15 finalists in the 2018 Greater Rochester Quality Council Performance Excellence Awards Competition. The competition celebrates quality accomplishments in the Greater Rochester Area. We submitted under the TEAM EXCELLENCE category and referenced our evolution in the Learning and Agile Organization (L&AO) Strategic Objective and our efforts in continuous improvements through our Kaizen activities. Our submittal was chosen and recognized with a GOLD Award!

The GOLD Award was presented on Wednesday, May 9th, with 20 Gorbel® employees present at the event. The reason that Gorbel® won this award, is because of the efforts of all of our employees that have participated in Kaizens, supported our continuous improvement efforts, and/or have expressed an interest and embraced the desire to improve processes and become more engaged in improvements. Large groups, small groups, meetings, or simple conversations. It all matters, and was acknowledged by the Greater Rochester Quality Council on Wednesday night as they recognized our achievements in our Learning & Agile Organization (L&AO) efforts.

Gold Award

The impact of our continuous improvement effort is twofold. Our efforts improve the lives of Gorbel® employees through more efficient processes and making our work easier and more impactful, while improving our competitive position. Additionally, our improvements ultimately enhance and improve the experiences of our customers as well.

So as I ‘look through the window’…or in this case…‘the clear glass of the award’, please know that I see each Gorbel employee included in this achievement. Congratulations for being a part of our daily improvements and a part of this awesome recognition in our community.

Gorbel Rocks! Just remember to improve just 1% a day. At the end of the year you will have improved 365%! Is there such a thing? You betcha!
