Background
A company that produces and finishes stone composite countertops and sinks was having issues with product damage.
The Problem
Operators were at risk for injury from maneuvering the slabs with forklifts and straps. There were also problems with frequent product damage. The 200 to 1000lb pieces of stone composite are difficult to maneuver during the cutting and polishing procedure and worker safety was a major concern.
The Solution
The company decided on a free standing workstation bridge crane with a 24’ bridge as the solution. The workstation crane offered the most usable area in the location and was more affordable than I‐Beam construction. The system can also be modified or added on to later if needed. Since its installation they have doubled their production and output.
