Background
A.L. Smith Glass Company located in Ijamsville, Maryland is a manufacturer of glass products including insulated glass and tempered glass. Their water jet is utilized in cutting heavy glass shower doors.
The Problem
It took two to three employees to load and unload the glass sheets to and from the glass edging machine and water jet glass cutting apparatus. This was an unsafe method and increased labor costs.
The Solution
A Gorbel Free Standing Work Station Bridge Crane and Work Station Jib Crane were installed to improve processes and safety.
